Hii my lovelies! I hope you’re having a lovely time in the cold weather and enjoying eating the delicious food. The taste of food is unmatchable in the winter season, everything suddenly tastes a lot better and the portions just keep getting bigger. Isn’t it true? Well, I am one of those whose plates and portions both get larger in this season and I don’t feel one percent guilty about it. Having said that, it also becomes difficult to shed off all those extra kilos that we gain during the winter and New Year celebrations!
Keeping the same in mind, I made sure to follow a health regime that will help me stay healthy and in shape despite the overeating trips. And while I was at it, I thought why not share my simple regime which will help you maintain a healthy lifestyle not only during winter, but the entire year.
Let’s get more fit by the end of this year, girlies! Now, we all know how easy it is for us to forget about healthy eating habits, going to the gym, getting up early morning for a quick run and what not. But what we can do to stay healthy will absolutely surprise you. So, read on to find out how you can stay healthy and beautiful this year.
Eat small portions: This ain’t even an exercise! All you have to do is keep a check on the portions you put on your plate. Okay, I do understand that you love pizza & donuts but how about gorging on only one slice of pizza and following it with half of a donut? It won’t hurt, right? I mean you get to fulfil your desire of eating pizza too. It not just restricts till pizza, but even your everyday food habits like switching to a smaller bowl of serving and only eating 2 chapattis instead of more. Sounds easy, no? In fact, eat every 2 hours to increase your metabolism.
Switch to healthier food: We all love spoiling ourselves with a bag full of chips for snacking, but how about replacing it with a bowl of fruits with yoghurt? It is still a delicious snacking dish which is definitely way healthier than a packet of fried chips. A dollop of butter sitting on top of your parantha sure looks great but how about having a parantha cooked in less oil or olive oil sans the butter? Remember, these choices are rather easy; it’s all in the mind.
Go for a jog: Trust me, when I say this, it’s not all that difficult to wake up in the morning and go for a run… and, you absolutely need not run a marathon. Start with smaller jogs and eventually as you grow fond of it, increase the distance of your jogs.
Enjoy a sport: Nothing beats enjoying a sport that suffices a workout session at the gym! There is no obligation for you to visit the gym 6 days a week instead, you can choose a sport that you genuinely enjoy or are good at. For example, I like to cycle so I joined a cycling group and we go for cycling rides every now and then. Similarly, find out what you enjoy doing and stick to it.
Walk around: With busy schedules and 9-5 jobs, we tend to forget to move around. This causes joint pains, weight gain, general procrastination and what not. So, no matter where you are, if your job involves long sitting hours, make sure to stroll around after sitting at a place for more than 40 minutes.
Sure these habits are rather simple and over-talked but I am not lying, these little things work in great manner to shape a healthy lifestyle for you. Until next time…!
Lots of luv,
