I hope you have bought yourself amazing party dresses for the upcoming Christmas and New Year party! Although I always love partying, this is the best time to catch up with family and friends and eat without guilt. Hee hee…
So, let’s get down to preparing for these parties! And, first comes the Christmas party.
First step, buy a nice dress. Whenever I go to buy a dress, I make sure I visualize myself in the dress with the right make-up and accessories of course. I have realized that I have pretty much seen everyone sporting red lips with some eye makeup at every Christmas party and surprisingly it never looks monotonous. Red lips sort of add a lot of positivity and liven up the entire face.
Anyway, without further delay, let me guide you through a quick look that you can sport this Christmas and turn heads.
Starting off with cleansing, toning and moisturizing, dab a primer all over your face followed by a light foundation, remember to not go overboard with the foundation. After you’re done with the base, take a nice bronzer and warm up the hollow of your cheeks, temples and jaw line. This will sculpt your face and give more dimension to it. Now choose a same coloured blush and apply it on the apple of your cheeks and finish off with a nice highlighter on the top of your blush.
Coming to the eyes, taking a soft brown, define your crease. Now take a deeper brown and define the outer V of your eyes, don’t be afraid to go back to the colour multiple times until you get a perfect brown colour. As for the lid, choose a light eye shadow, could be champagne, neutral pink, olive, basically any neutral eye shadow. You can totally skip the eyeliner or go for a bold winged eye.
Now don’t forget, the focus of this look are the lips. To flaunt amazing red lips, you need some preparation because if done shabbily, they look really unattractive. Choose a lip balm, scrub it over the lips for good 15 seconds and take a nude/ red lip liner and define the natural shape of your lips. Now take a red lipstick that suits your skin tone. For example, a deep burgundy red looks absolutely stunning on darker skin tones and a tomato red goes brilliant with wheatish to medium skin tone. If you have a fair complexion, go for a bright scarlet red. After choosing the right lipstick, go ahead and dab it onto your lips with either a brush or directly from the tube.
Now that you are close to done, take your concealer with a Q-tip and apply it around the natural shape of your lips to avoid any bleeding. Also don’t forget to conceal your under eye area.
Complete your look with glittery nails and you are all set to rock any Christmas party.
Wish you a Merry Christmas in advance ladies!
Lots of luv,
